Guest sentiment
A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"This place is a hidden gem. I can begin to describe the motif and ambience! The diverse menu with featured specials— is enough to satisfy anybody in your group! I had the artichoke sandwich and it was delicious! Highly recommend this place to anybody traveling through or locals!"
"Fire and Ice was great. We had the prime rib and a burger and both were outstanding. The decor was fantastic, featuring do many unique items. Very fun."
"I was blown away by this place. It’s a real throwback to old fine family restaurants from the 70s-80s. The memorabilia is in great shape and not dingy. There are multiple rooms with various themes such as a library, a room that looks like train berths, and a cool antique boat in the lobby. Now onto the food – very rich old fashion recipes with excellent quality ingredients. I had the bar steak and the bacon and onion cooked sweet relish was really tasty and the steak was cooked to order properly. My wife has the chicken Boursin which was a very unique and tasty dish. The dessert the carrot cake was the best we had in years. It’s as if they have a crew of Amish grandmothers in the back and they told them to do their thing but on an elevated basis. Great spot. Will be back."
"The restaurant was very clean and beautifully designed. The staff were friendly, and while the burgers were just okay, the overall experience was pleasant."
"We had a lovely meal here. They were very accommodating and allowed us to eat outside with our pets. The inside of the restaurant is a sight to behold, and we missed out on many of the perks of dining inside. We were not offered bread or a salad bar despite getting the admiral cut prime rib and boursin chicken. Disappointed our meal did not come with a vegetable. Overall those were small prices to pay to have our pets dine with us."
"Amazing food and fun atmosphere! Food did take a long time, but we were there eating on a Saturday night. Great place in Middlebury with options for everyone!"
"Paige was our server and boy was she excellent. Could not have asked for a more efficient, attentive and friendly server. Everyone was amazed at their dishes, it would be hard to pick one favorite. The atmosphere is phenomenal. Get there early so you don't feel weird going from room to room to be amazed by the decorations."
"Nice big restaurant. Wait staff was friendly and attentive, service was quick. Nice atmosphere- as big as the place is, it felt like we were secluded, we could have a conversation and not be overpowered by others in the restaurant talking. Food was very good, a lot of flavor in all of our dishes. It is a little on the high end price wise, dinner for 2 is easily over $100+ But a good time was had by all! Oh- if you have any garlic intolerance, don't get the chicken Alfredo. That was my choice, and it was absolutely delicious, but could only eat very little and ended up having to throw more than half of it out"
